Stone Manor House

a nearly century-old home is transformed for today

Originally built in 1925, this stately stone manor home underwent an extensive interior and exterior transformation in a mere nine month’s time.

Project Type:
renovation and new construction

Distinguishing Fact:
entire project was completed within nine months

Situated on a verdant six acres just minutes from the nation's capital, this majestic home retained its unique elegance thanks to discreet, seamless additions and a comprehensive renovation. Outside, a new walkway and an exterior timber frame portico were added in order to connect the main house to the garage. Additionally, a new pool house was built behind the garage, and new matching garden walls and exterior stairs leading to the pool area were added. A custom mix of stone was created using salvaged stone from the site in conjunction with five additional types of stone.

Interior finishes throughout the entire home were upgraded. The existing living and dining rooms were transformed with new trim details, finishes and lighting. In the first floor office, paneling changes, fireplace revisions and decorative alterations were undertaken.

The gallery, great room, and first floor sunporch were fully renovated and new french doors were installed. In the new pool house, guest amenities such as changing rooms and a beverage center were added for comfort and convenience.
